About us
An architecture practice that also staffs and builds.
StackHog Private Limited is an IT services and technical hiring practice based in India, working with clients in India, the US, the UK and the EU. 55 services across 9 practices, and engineers across 17 technologies.
Our principles
An engineer runs the screen. An architect signs the scope.
Recruitment fails when the recruiter cannot tell a good answer from a confident one. Delivery fails when nobody senior owns the decisions that are expensive to reverse. An architecture practice is what lets us do both — and why we will sometimes say your role is really two, or that you do not need the project.
Scope before invoice
Every engagement opens with a written scope: what we found, what it will take, and what we will not do.
One architect, start to finish
The person who writes your architecture reviews the pull requests. No pod you never meet.
Evidence, not assurances
Written evidence per competency on every candidate, and tests as a merge gate on every build.
We will say no
If an off-the-shelf tool does it, or the project should not happen, that is what you will hear.
Who we work with
StackHog is a technical partner for:
- Funded startupsSeed to Series B, where the roadmap is set and the hiring is not.
- Scale-ups with a live productA team already shipping that needs a specific gap closed without a six-month search.
- Established mid-marketSystems that have to keep running while they are modernised, usually with a regulator watching.
- Agencies and consultanciesWhite-label delivery under your brand, with the India-side compliance handled.
How we deliver
Commitments, not adjectives.
Decide
We tell you what is worth doing
Design
The architecture is agreed before the first sprint
Build
Small senior teams, shipping weekly
Assure
Evidence, not assurances
Run
We stay on only if there is something to look after
The standards we hold to
Checkable, not asserted.
Speed
1 working day
First reply from a person
Not an autoresponder and not a junior qualifier. A written scope with a fixed price follows within two working days of the first call.
Speed
6–10 weeks
Startup MVP to first users
Assessments run 1–3 weeks, MVPs 6–10, and a shortlist for an open role reaches you in five working days.
Quality
80 % min
Test coverage as a merge gate
Enforced in CI, not aspirational. Alongside typed code, peer review on every change, and dependency and secret scanning on every build.
Effectiveness
100 %
You own the output
Code, infrastructure-as-code, documentation and models. IP transfers on payment, with no component locked to us and no hosting you cannot move.
The people
A small practice, on purpose.
The architect who scopes your work reviews what gets built. The engineer who screens your candidates has done the job they are screening for. That only holds at a size where everyone is accountable for something specific.
